Eagle River Ice Castle Collectible Snow Globes

Every year (weather permitting) the Eagle River Fire Department and many volunteers build a unique Ice Castle for all to enjoy.  In 2018, the Eagle River Revitalization Program started a collectible series of Snow Globes featuring the new Ice Castle as a fundraiser for their organization & to support the fire department.  A donation from the sales of the snow globes was given to the Eagle River Fire Department in 2018 & 2022.

The support of the community during the Ice Castle build is amazing! The Eagle River Area Fire Department and the entire community appreciates all of the volunteers and community support.

The ERAFD always have people ask, "how/where can we donate to the Eagle River Area Fire Department to help offset some of the costs of the ice castle build (equipment maintenance, new equipment, fuel, etc.)."

If you would like to make a direct donation to the ERAFD, you can send a check to the mailing address listed below or send a donation via PayPal.me/ERAFD which will go directly to the Eagle River Area Fire Department. They appreciate your continued support!

Challenges:

Every great idea involves many steps in the process.  In order to create a commemorative snow globe we need an Ice Castle...for an Ice Castle we need a team of volunteers to brave the cold weather...the volunteers need certain weather conditions to form the right depth of ice on Silver Lake...and we need it all to happen around the start of the New Year.  We had all the pieces fit together in 2018 and created the first snow globe, then again in 2022.  We also need great photography (taken & donated by Dan Dumas of Kim Swisher Communications Inc.) to create the model to create the snow globe!  Keep your fingers crossed for future Ice Castles by the Eagle River Fire Department.
